Australians in the UK have slightly different rules due to health agreements. Through a mutual health agreement, Australians can receive free healthcare from the NHS for up to six months. The health care received must be medically necessary and cannot wait six months. They receive the same care as a resident, including access to a family doctor`s office, an accessible clinic, emergency care in a hospital, ambulance services, outpatient care and prescriptions (with a low fee for those in England, as already mentioned). You must register with a family doctor to be seen by one of them. They must do so to be eligible for health care and revenue. You have to pay for all dental services, but private health care can help cover the associated costs.
